In the latest edition of “Brussels, my love?”, we are introduced to new and familiar faces taking on roles as Members of the European Parliament. Isabella Lövin, a Swedish MEP from the Greens, Fidias Panayiotou, an independent MEP from Cyprus, and Sigrid Friis, a lawmaker from Renew Europe, are among the guests featured. Broadcasting from the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the MEPs share their aspirations for the next five years.

Fidias Panayiotou, a YouTuber turned politician, expressed his desire for his followers to understand the European Union better. Despite admitting to having little knowledge of politics, the 24-year-old is passionate about focusing on education, a topic close to his heart. Throughout the week, Fidias created video content for his millions of followers and even embarked on a journey from Brussels to France via hitchhiking.

Climate action is the primary focus for 29-year-old Sigrid Friis from Denmark, who is determined to halt the import of Russian gas and oil into the European energy system. She believes that tackling climate change can be aligned with promoting competitiveness. Isabella Lövin, a former climate minister of Sweden who is serving as an MEP for the second time, emphasizes the importance of not regressing on green policies. The Greens, a popular political party in Sweden, have garnered support from the industry for climate targets. Lövin stresses the critical need to progress further, especially given the uncertainty surrounding upcoming events such as the US elections.

The MEPs featured on “Brussels, my love?” showcase a diverse range of interests and priorities, reflecting the complex landscape of the European Parliament. As these individuals embark on their roles, they bring a fresh perspective and determination to address pressing issues faced by the EU and its member states. Despite their varying backgrounds and experiences, they share a common goal of contributing towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for Europe.

The program highlights the unique blend of personalities and expertise that make up the European Parliament, illustrating the broad spectrum of voices that shape European politics.
