The Seeds for the Future program, in collaboration with the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), is now accepting applications for 10 Qatari university students to participate in the 8th edition of the program in Uzbekistan in August 2024. This program aims to enhance the skills of Qatari youth in the field of communications and IT. The selected students will have the opportunity to engage in a week-long program in Uzbekistan, alongside peers from the Middle East and Central Asia, focused on real projects that address global challenges.

President of CRA, Eng. Ahmad Abdulla Al Muslemani, highlighted the importance of empowering youth in the field of communications and IT, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Huawei Technologies Gulf President, Rico Lin, emphasized the significance of nurturing young talent globally through programs like ‘Seeds for the Future’. The program aims to inspire the next generation of ICT leaders in Qatar and equip them with the skills to drive innovation and shape the digital future of the country.

The Tech4Good regional competition will be held alongside the program, encouraging students to innovate technological solutions that address social and environmental challenges and make a positive impact on their communities. Huawei launched the Seeds for the Future program in 2008, with over 18,000 students from 141 countries participating since then. In Qatar, the program has attracted over 300 outstanding students from various universities, with the country also hosting the first regional program for the Middle East and Central Asia in 2023.

The selected students for the 8th edition of the program will participate in interactive experiences in Uzbekistan, focusing on cultural exchange and cutting-edge technologies. The competitive selection process aims to draw outstanding students from leading Qatari universities to participate in the program. By engaging in real projects that aim to find solutions for global challenges, students will enhance their skills and prepare for future leadership roles in the communications and IT field.

The program is aligned with Qatar’s vision to empower youth and provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field of communications and IT. With the application process now open on the official website of the Seeds for the Future program, Huawei and CRA continue their partnership to support the development of young talent in Qatar. Through initiatives like Seeds for the Future, the program aims to shape the digital future of Qatar and inspire the next generation of ICT leaders in the country.

Overall, the Seeds for the Future program offers a unique opportunity for Qatari university students to enhance their skills in communications and IT, engage in real projects, and network with peers from across the region. By participating in this program, students can gain valuable experiences that will prepare them for future leadership roles in the field of technology and innovation. The program’s focus on empowering youth and addressing global challenges demonstrates the commitment of Huawei and CRA to supporting the development of young talent in Qatar.
