Pakistan envoy describes tough day but acknowledges it could have been worse

The recent attack in Al Wadi Al Kabir in Oman has left the Pakistan Ambassador, Imran Ali, deeply saddened. He expressed relief that the worst is over, but mentioned that it has been a challenging and disturbing day. Ambassador Ali confirmed that four Pakistani expatriates were among the nine killed in the attack. He praised the swift actions of the Royal Oman Police and security officials for saving many lives. The embassy is providing full support to the affected families and is working to facilitate the repatriation of the victims’ bodies. The ambassador visited local hospitals to check on the well-being of injured Pakistanis and has established a helpline for assistance.

Ambassador Imran Ali has been in constant contact with Omani authorities regarding the repatriation of the Pakistani victims’ bodies. He urged Pakistani citizens to avoid travelling to Wadi Al Kabir and cooperate with local authorities. Emergency contact numbers have been provided by the embassy for those staying in Oman. The affected area remained cordoned off on Tuesday, with access to the mosque restricted. Most residents preferred to stay indoors following the attack. The embassy is providing continuous communication with hospitals and officials to ensure the well-being of Pakistani citizens in Oman.

The affected area has been cordoned off, with access to the mosque restricted. Most residents in the area have chosen to stay indoors following the attack.

In a video message posted on X, Ambassador Ali urged citizens to avoid travelling to Wadi Al Kabir due to the attack. He mentioned that he had visited several hospitals to check on the injured. The ambassador reassured that all injured individuals were relatively safe. The embassy is working closely with Omani authorities on the repatriation of the victims’ bodies and providing support to affected families. Ambassador Ali emphasized the importance of cooperation with local authorities and urged Pakistani citizens to stay in touch with the embassy for any assistance needed.
