The Sultanate of Oman is seeing a positive trend in its hotel industry, with revenues of 3-5 star hotels reaching OMR108.379 million at the end of May 2024. This marks a 10.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023, as reported by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The total number of hotel guests also saw a significant rise of 13.7%, reaching 913,677 by the end of May 2024. The hotel occupancy rate also experienced growth, with a 6% increase.

Among the various nationalities visiting hotels in Oman, Omanis topped the number of guests with 306,255 visitors. European guests followed closely with 286,980 guests, marking a substantial increase of 19.6% compared to the previous year. Asian guests also saw a notable increase of 21% with 133,771 visitors. Additionally, the number of guests from GCC countries rose by 6.8% to 58,572 while the number of African guests increased by 1.6% to 4,677. Guests from Oceanian countries stood at 13,446 visitors.

The increase in hotel revenues and the number of guests visiting Oman is a positive sign for the country’s tourism industry. With a diverse range of nationalities visiting the Sultanate, it showcases Oman’s appeal as a popular destination for travelers from around the world.
