The wedding celebrations of Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant Ambani, have been making headlines around the world. The four-day event kicked off on Friday with a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony followed by a grand reception expected to last throughout the weekend. The wedding took place at the Ambani-owned Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, with the family home also playing a significant role in the celebrations.

The lavish event was attended by global celebrities, business tycoons, and politicians, making it one of the most talked-about weddings of the year. The wedding rituals, including the couple exchanging garlands and walking around a sacred fire, began on Friday and continued well into the night. The marriage ceremony was the culmination of months of wedding-related events that featured performances by pop stars such as Rihanna and Justin Bieber.

Among the high-profile guests in attendance were former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, John Kerry, Saudi Aramco CEO Amin H. Nasser, and celebrities like Adele, Lana Del Rey, and Drake. The Ambani family hosted a ‘blessing ceremony’ for friends and family to meet the newlyweds and wish them a happy married life. However, the family did not confirm the guest list or make any official statements regarding the attendees.

The extravagant display of opulence at the wedding has sparked questions about rising inequality in India, where the gap between the rich and the poor is widening. Some Mumbai residents expressed frustration over the traffic disruptions caused by the influx of guests attending the event. The police had to impose traffic diversions around the wedding venue to manage the situation, especially amidst heavy monsoon rains that have plagued the city in recent weeks.

Mukesh Ambani, the father of the groom, is the ninth-richest man in the world with a net worth of $116 billion, making him the wealthiest person in Asia. His company, Reliance Industries, is a conglomerate with over $100 billion in annual revenue, operating in sectors like petrochemicals, oil and gas, telecoms, and retail. The bride, Radhika Merchant, is also a successful businesswoman, serving as the marketing director for her father’s pharmaceutical company, Encore Healthcare.

The international guests who attended the wedding wore traditional Indian attire by top designers, showcasing their appreciation for Indian culture. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, John Cena, and Nick Jonas were spotted in embroidered sherwanis, the traditional long-sleeved outer coats worn by men in South Asia. Despite the opulent display, the focus remained on the celebration of love and unity, as friends and family gathered to bless the newly married couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness.
