Barzakh, a Pakistani drama series starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, is set to debut on July 19 on Zee5. The series follows an unusual premise where an old recluse invites his two sons to his third wedding, to a woman they believe is dead. The term “Barzakh” translates to limbo, where souls reside before reaching their final destination – heaven or hell. The show stars Sanam Saeed, Fawad Khan, M Fawad Khan, and Salman Shahid in key roles.

In the series, Salman Shahid plays Jaffar Khanzada, a resort owner who invites his sons Sheheryar and Saifullah to his wedding. Sanam Saeed portrays Scheherzade, Khanzada’s assistant, guiding the audience through the journey of the story. Sanam expressed her excitement to be a part of the series and shared her views on working on OTT platforms that allow for more challenging and fulfilling roles. She also highlighted the importance of exploring diverse and inclusive narratives on mainstream television channels.

Sanam discussed the process of crafting her character in Barzakh, emphasizing the unique approach taken by the team to create a character from scratch. She explained the collaborative effort between the director Asim and the actors in developing the character’s nuances and layers. Despite the challenges of portraying a character with limited emotional expression, Sanam found the experience rewarding and appreciated the support of her cast and crew.

The actress shared her hopes for the audience’s response to Barzakh, aiming to evoke a range of emotions and connections among viewers. She emphasized the importance of exploring generational connections, relationships, and the mysteries surrounding life after death portrayed in the series. Sanam’s goal is to spark intrigue and curiosity among viewers, encouraging them to question and reflect on their own relationships and connections after watching the show. With its appealing storyline and engaging characters, Barzakh promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of magic and spiritual realism.
