King Hamad appoints new President of NIA

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has recently promoted Brigadier General Bassam Mohammed Khamis Al Maraj to the rank of Major General. This promotion comes with an additional appointment as the President of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), which will be effective from 1st August 2024. The appointment was made in accordance with Decree (28) of 2024 issued by HM King.
