Hind, an Emirati woman known as ‘art of h’, is gaining recognition for her captivating mural designs that can be seen in public spaces across the UAE. With a passion for drawing since a young age, influenced by her family’s appreciation for the arts, Hind initially studied graphic design in university to complement her artistic talents. Her mural art journey began with significant recognition when she was commissioned to beautify Al Samha city. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Hind persevered and personally executed five murals.
Incorporating culturally significant symbols and motifs, Hind’s murals reflect the essence of the UAE, from sand dunes to Bedouin life. Her favorite project involved painting bus station shelters for Abu Dhabi Municipality, where she experienced the thrill of working in public spaces at great heights. However, mural art presents its challenges, particularly painting on large surfaces using electric lifts and ensuring precise measurements for perfect execution.
The time frame to complete a mural project varies depending on size, work amount, details in the painting, and the artist’s mood. Hind aims to become a certified mural artist for government entities and establish her own company specializing in murals and fine arts. Despite facing challenges like painting in the summer heat and adhering to pandemic safety measures, Hind’s resilience, dedication, and love for her work have earned her recognition for her unwavering commitment during challenging projects.
Hind’s passion for mural art shines through her work, with her field being a constant source of joy for her. Despite challenges like the heat, Hind finds enjoyment in what she does and takes breaks in air-conditioned spaces. She usually opts to work in the evenings to avoid the heat but also relies on daylight to see the details in her paintings. With a strong determination to excel in her craft, Hind’s artistic journey continues as she aims to leave her mark in the art world.
