The meeting of the Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament, held in Cairo, saw the participation of the Shura Council, where discussions about the recent developments in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territories took place. HE Sheikha bint Youssef Al Jufairi, a member of the Shura Council and the Arab Parliament representing Qatar, emphasized Qatar’s efforts to stop Israeli aggression in Gaza and ensure the continuous flow of life-saving humanitarian aid into the enclave. Her Excellency highlighted Qatar’s commitment to ending the bloodshed, protecting civilians, providing assistance, and preventing the escalation of the conflict.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mohannad Al Aklouk, the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, briefed committee members on the latest developments in Gaza. Following discussions, the committee approved a draft resolution on the situation in Palestine as well as another draft resolution focusing on Palestinian women in the occupied territories. These resolutions are set to be presented to the general session of the Arab Parliament scheduled to take place at the headquarters of the Arab League on Saturday.

The State of Qatar’s unwavering support for Palestine was evident in HE Sheikha bint Youssef Al Jufairi’s statements during the meeting. Qatar’s efforts to halt the Israeli aggression and ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza have been ongoing, reflecting the country’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. The focus on protecting civilians, facilitating assistance, and preventing further conflict underscores Qatar’s dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region.

The meeting in Cairo highlighted the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in addressing the challenges faced by the Palestinian Territories. The discussions on the situation in Gaza and the Occupied Territories underscored the urgent need for action to address the humanitarian crisis and protect the civilian population. Through diplomatic efforts and engagement in forums such as the Arab Parliament, countries like Qatar are playing a crucial role in advocating for the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people.

The endorsement of draft resolutions on Palestine and Palestinian women by the committee demonstrates a collective commitment to addressing the issues affecting the Palestinian Territories. By presenting these resolutions to the general session of the Arab Parliament, the committee aims to raise awareness and garner support for initiatives that promote peace, security, and stability in the region. The involvement of key stakeholders, such as Qatar, in these efforts reinforces the importance of international cooperation in achieving lasting solutions to the challenges faced by the Palestinian people.

In conclusion, the meeting of the Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of the Palestinian Territories. Qatar’s active participation and support for the resolutions underlines the country’s dedication to promoting peace and resolving the conflict in Gaza and the Occupied Territories. As discussions continue and resolutions are presented to the general session of the Arab Parliament, the international community is reminded of the importance of standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and working towards a just and lasting resolution to the conflict.
