Public buses from Ajman to Abu Dhabi will now be running four trips every day starting July 9, according to the announcement made by the Ajman Public Transport Authority (Apta) on Monday, July 8. The service will consist of four buses departing from Ajman to Abu Dhabi, and two buses departing from Abu Dhabi to Ajman. The route will start from Al Musalla Station to Abu Dhabi Bus Station and back to Al Musalla Station, with the first bus leaving Ajman at 7 am and the last at 7 pm.

The ticket price for the bus will be Dh35, with commuters able to pay using their Masaar card. The increased routes on the Abu Dhabi line aim to meet the needs of the commuting public, providing a convenient and affordable mode of transportation between the two cities. Additionally, Ajman’s bus-on-demand (BOD) service is back in operation after the temporary suspension on June 4, offering minibuses from 6 am to 11 pm to reduce waiting time for commuters and ease traffic congestion.

Passengers using the BOD service can book their seats through an app, specifying their location and destination, with the app determining the nearest point for boarding the bus. The cost for the service is Dh7 per person, with an additional charge of Dh4 for each extra person up to four people. In addition to the Ajman-Abu Dhabi route, intercity buses connecting Abu Dhabi residents to Sharjah and Dubai are readily available, offering seamless travel between the cities and convenient stops along the way.

Routes E100 and E101 facilitate travel between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, as well as Ibn Battuta Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, respectively. The SRTA route 117R connects Abu Dhabi to various stops within Sharjah, providing an affordable and efficient mode of transportation for residents. To plan an intercity journey from Abu Dhabi, residents can visit the darbi.itc.gov.ae website, select their departure and arrival stations, and access timing and fare information.

Residents from Ras Al Khaimah can also travel to Abu Dhabi by taking the intercity bus service operating six days a week at 9 am and 3 pm, with a fare of Dh47. The availability of public bus services between cities not only enhances connectivity and accessibility for residents but also contributes to sustainable transportation options, reducing the reliance on personal vehicles and alleviating traffic congestion. With convenient schedules, affordable fares, and easy booking options, public buses play a crucial role in promoting efficient and eco-friendly travel for commuters.
