The Southern Governorate in Bahrain has reported a high number of inquiries and requests in the first half of 2024, across various sectors including security, service, and social services. The governorate has been utilizing both traditional methods such as phone calls and emails, as well as modern technology through the “Southern Governorate” application and the national “Tawasul” program. The Governorate Council also plays an active role in engaging with the community, receiving inquiries and suggestions for improvement.

Among the inquiries received, the majority were related to security services, followed by social services and general service requests. His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, emphasized the importance of enhancing communication and interaction to provide swift responses and promote community partnership. A specialized team analyzes and categorizes the received information before forwarding it to the relevant departments for further action.

The Governorate has established 24 communication channels to maximize interaction with residents and citizens, ensuring accessibility through various methods such as a Customer Service Reception Desk, email, direct phone line, video call service, instant chat service, the Tawasul program, and social media platforms. The field team monitors requests and suggestions within their areas and discusses them during Coordinating Council meetings to align recommendations with residents’ aspirations.

Efforts are being made to streamline the process of handling inquiries and requests to improve efficiency in responses and address residents’ needs promptly. The Governorate’s commitment to serving all residents is evident through its proactive approach in engaging with the community and utilizing technology to facilitate communication. It emphasizes the importance of community partnership in achieving the goals of the Southern Governorate and meeting the needs of its residents effectively.

The data collected from the inquiries and requests received in the first half of 2024 highlights the varying needs of residents across different sectors. By categorizing and analyzing this information, the Governorate can prioritize actions and allocate resources accordingly to address the most pressing issues. This approach ensures that services are delivered efficiently and effectively, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents in the Southern Governorate.
