The Palestinian national soccer team has made history by advancing further than ever in World Cup qualifying. However, due to various conflicts in the region, the team has been unable to host games on its home soil. The Palestinian Football Association is now proposing to host games in the West Bank during the third stage of its Asian qualification campaign. The Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium in Al Ram is ready to host the games, with the support of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

Despite the challenges of playing away from home and dealing with safety concerns, the Palestinian team has shown remarkable success on the international stage. Many of the players on the roster currently play for clubs in foreign leagues. The team is currently ranked No. 95 in the world and has been drawn in Group B of the third round, which includes teams like South Korea, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, and Kuwait. The top two teams from each group will qualify automatically for the 2026 World Cup.

The Palestinian team is set to play its first home game in the West Bank against Jordan on September 10. The Jordan Football Association has expressed its support for the Palestinian Football Association’s right to hold matches on its own soil. The Oman Football Association and Kuwait have also issued statements in support of the Palestinian team hosting games at home. This move signifies a significant step for Palestinian soccer and its players.

Mohammed Rashid, a defensive midfielder for the team, has expressed the challenges of competing on the international stage without being able to play at home. Despite these difficulties, the players are determined to represent their country and make an impact in the World Cup qualifiers. The team’s success so far is a testament to their resilience and dedication to the sport.

The Palestinian team’s journey in World Cup qualifying has been filled with obstacles, but they have shown a strong determination to overcome them. By proposing to host games in the West Bank, the team is taking a significant step towards playing on its home soil. With the support of FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation, and other national football associations, the Palestinian team is ready to showcase its talent and represent its nation at an international level.

As the Palestinian national soccer team prepares for its upcoming matches on home soil, the players are focused on making their country proud. With the support of fans, national football associations, and international governing bodies, the team is set to create a historic moment in Palestinian sports history. The journey to the 2026 World Cup is not an easy one, but the Palestinian team is determined to continue making strides and achieving success on the global stage.
