Engineers Australia event will center on ‘Leadership and the Future of Construction’

Engineers Australia recently organized a CEO Panel Discussion Event in Doha, Qatar, focused on the theme of “Leadership and the Future of Construction.” The event took place at the National Museum of Qatar Auditorium and brought together influential leaders and innovators from the industry to share their insights and visions for the future. The event began with the President of Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter, Asif Rahmany, and the Master of Ceremony, Rukhsana Khan, setting the stage for an evening of engaging discussions.

The keynote address was delivered by the Australian Ambassador to Qatar, H E Shane Flanagan, who highlighted the strong relationship between Qatar and Australia, particularly in the construction industry. Flanagan emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared expertise between the two nations to drive forward the construction industry. He also mentioned the significant trade relationship between the two countries, with two-way trade in goods and services reaching over A$3.4 billion last year, making it the second-largest for Australia in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The panel discussion featured a distinguished group of panelists, including Dr. Sheikha Athba Al Thani, Eng. Hany Farahat, Ahmad Jassim Al Muzafar, and Sindy Yong, who brought a wealth of knowledge and unique perspectives on leadership and the future of construction. Topics included sustainable building practices, advanced technologies in construction, and strategies for fostering a more inclusive and diverse industry. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with the panelists during a Q&A session, fostering an interactive and insightful dialogue.

Industry leaders, including Nawar Chapman, Simon Alexander, Lotfy AbdelKader, Leslie Foster, Diana Monis, and ambassadors from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, and Guyana, among others, attended the event, contributing to its success. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Heba Mandour, expressing gratitude to all participants for their contributions and emphasizing the importance of such events in bringing industry leaders together to share knowledge and drive innovation in construction.
