Lusail International Circuit (LIC) in Doha, Qatar has been chosen as the host for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) official prologue and season opener in 2025. The Qatar 1812Km race, named in honour of Qatar’s National Day, is set to take place on February 28, 2025, marking the beginning of an eight-round global championship. The 2025 season is expected to feature intense competition with a minimum of 14 manufacturers participating. The championship will then travel to various locations including Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, São Paulo, Austin, Fuji, and Bahrain, showcasing LIC as a premier motorsports hub on the international stage.

Lusail International Circuit hosted the inaugural Qatar Airways Qatar 1812 KM race in March 2024, which was a resounding success. The ten-hour endurance race, beginning in daylight and ending under LIC’s iconic floodlights, was won by Porsche Penske Motorsport. Manthey PureRxcing also emerged victorious in the first-ever LMGT3 class. The event featured thrilling competition across all classes and offered spectators a range of entertainment options including an air show, cultural activities, and a vibrant Fan Zone.
