His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, has instructed the relevant authorities to develop a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of the historical Manama Souq. The goal of this initiative is to preserve the souq’s historical and cultural identity while addressing necessary infrastructure needs. This directive is in response to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Royal Order to protect the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain’s buildings and cities.

During a weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by HRH Prince Salman, the Cabinet extended its congratulations to HM King Hamad on the upcoming Hijri New Year 1446 AH. The Cabinet expressed its well wishes for the Kingdom of Bahrain and all Arab and Islamic nations for further progress and prosperity. This gesture is in line with HM the King’s directives and Bahrain’s presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit. The Cabinet also acknowledged the importance of monitoring recent developments and military escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border to prevent conflicts from expanding in the region and to maintain peace and stability.

Furthermore, the Cabinet emphasized the significance of continuing efforts to combat human trafficking in Bahrain to protect the rights of workers and employers. The Kingdom recently achieved Tier 1 ranking in the US State Department’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report for the seventh consecutive year, reflecting the vision of HM the King and HRH Prince Salman to establish fairness and provide a safe environment for workers and employers. The Cabinet directed relevant authorities to monitor and support the needs of areas during Ashura to ensure its success.

The redevelopment of the Manama Souq is an important project that aims to preserve the historical and cultural identity of the area while addressing infrastructure requirements. This initiative is part of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s efforts to implement His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Royal Order to protect Bahrain’s historical and cultural buildings and cities. The comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of the souq will help maintain its unique charm while meeting modern needs.

During a recent Cabinet meeting chaired by HRH Prince Salman, the Cabinet extended its congratulations to HM King Hamad and expressed well wishes for the upcoming Hijri New Year. The Cabinet also emphasized the importance of monitoring developments and military escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border to prevent conflicts from escalating and to ensure regional peace and stability. Additionally, the Cabinet highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to combat human trafficking in Bahrain to protect the rights of workers and employers.

The Kingdom’s achievement of Tier 1 ranking in the US State Department’s Trafficking in Persons report for the seventh consecutive year reflects the commitment of HM the King and HRH Prince Salman to establishing fairness and providing a safe environment for workers and employers. The Cabinet directed relevant authorities to monitor and support the needs of areas during Ashura to ensure its success. This recognition and commitment to combating human trafficking further solidify Bahrain’s position as a leader in protecting the rights of workers and employers and promoting fairness in the labour market.

In conclusion, the directive to establish a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of the historical Manama Souq reflects the commitment of the Bahraini government to preserve the country’s historical and cultural heritage while meeting modern infrastructure needs. This initiative aligns with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s efforts to protect Bahrain’s historical and cultural buildings and cities. With ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and continue monitoring developments in the region, Bahrain is positioning itself as a leader in promoting peace, stability, and fairness in the region.
