LMRA Launches Electronic Services for Domestic Employee Permits

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has introduced electronic services for Domestic Employee permits, allowing employers to complete transactions online through the Expatriate Management System (EMS). This new system eliminates the need for employers to visit the authority in person, although the option to apply in person at LMRA branches is still available for those who prefer it. Nibras Talib, CEO of the LMRA, emphasized that this move is part of the authority’s commitment to improving service quality and aligning with the government’s efforts to streamline processes.

Employers can now use the Advanced e-Key issued by the Information & eGovernment Authority to complete all operations related to Domestic Employees through the EMS. This includes applying for permits, renewals, terminations, and changes to a domestic worker’s profession. Employers can also approve requests from recruitment offices and make fee payments online using debit or credit cards. Furthermore, they have access to monitoring tools to track the progress of their transactions, view worker lists, and check expiration dates and legal statuses.

These enhancements reflect LMRA’s efforts to re-engineer processes and transition towards digitalization of its services. Previously, the authority streamlined the application process for domestic employee permits through licensed employment offices, enabling them to handle transactions electronically without visiting government entities. Employers seeking more information can visit the LMRA website at www.lmra.gov.bh or contact the LMRA Call Center at 17506055 for inquiries.

In conclusion, LMRA’s launch of electronic services for Domestic Employee permits is a significant step towards improving efficiency and convenience for employers. By embracing digital solutions and streamlining processes, the authority is enhancing service quality and aligning with the government’s strategy for modernizing administrative procedures. Employers can now complete transactions online, reducing the need for physical visits and simplifying the permit application process. For more information and assistance, employers are encouraged to visit the LMRA website or contact the LMRA Call Center for support.

Overall, the introduction of electronic services for Domestic Employee permits by LMRA represents a positive shift towards digitalization and enhanced efficiency in the permit application process. Employers can now complete transactions online through the EMS, eliminating the need to visit the LMRA offices in person. This development is in line with the government’s efforts to streamline administrative processes and improve service quality. By adopting digital solutions and enabling online transactions, LMRA is making it easier for employers to manage their domestic workers and ensuring a smoother and more convenient permit application experience.

To sum up, the implementation of electronic services for Domestic Employee permits by LMRA signifies a step towards modernization and efficiency in permit processing. Employers can now utilize online platforms to handle permit-related tasks, offering a more convenient and streamlined approach. With the option to complete transactions electronically or in person, employers have the flexibility to choose the method that best suits their needs. LMRA’s commitment to improving service quality through digitalization and process reengineering demonstrates its dedication to providing efficient and accessible services for employers in Bahrain. For more information or assistance, employers can visit the LMRA website or contact the LMRA Call Center for support.
