Summer activities kick off at Al Shafallah Center for People with Disabilities

Al Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, a branch of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has begun its summer activities in Al Hilal and Lusail targeting individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. With 158 participants of all genders between the ages of 3 and 19, the events will run from June 30 until July 25. The primary goal of these activities is to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities to engage in summer activities and develop their skills through various programs.

CEO Mariam Saif Al Suwaidi emphasized the center’s commitment to providing services to its affiliates during the summer and building family partnerships through their involvement. The center is also focused on strengthening societal partnerships by engaging with state ministries and organizations to offer diverse activities that cater to the needs of the participants. By providing beneficial activities during the summer, the center aims to help individuals with disabilities enhance their skills and make the most of their leisure time.

The summer activities organized by Al Shafallah Center are designed to help individuals with disabilities internalize multiple skills and capabilities by participating in a wide range of programs. By investing in their capacities and empowering them to engage in various activities, the center aims to promote independence and enhance their overall well-being. Through partnerships with different entities, the center is able to offer a diverse range of activities that cater to the unique needs of individuals with disabilities, fostering a sense of inclusion and support within the community.

Al Suwaidi highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities to engage in summer activities and develop their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. By offering a range of programs and services tailored to their needs, the center aims to promote social integration and empower individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling and active lives. Through partnerships with state ministries and organizations, the center is able to leverage resources and expertise to provide a comprehensive and meaningful summer program for participants of all ages and abilities.
