The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Al Wusta Governorate is gearing up for the forthcoming Khareef Dhofar 2024 season. The Roads Department in the governorate is taking steps to enhance its preparedness to maximize the benefits of the upcoming season.

Bakhit Salim Al Awa’id, Director of the Roads Department in Al Wusta Governorate, highlighted that efforts are being made to clear sand layers from key roads connecting the region to Dhofar Governorate. These include roads such as Adam-Thumrait, Sinaw-Duqm-Hasik, Al Ashkharah-Mahout, and Mahout-Al Zamaim. By ensuring these roads are clear and operational, the department aims to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic during the Khareef season.

Additionally, the Roads Department has awarded a tender for the management of road links in the Wilayat of Haima. This initiative, set to be implemented in the first quarter of 2024, will involve the construction of remaining parts of the Adam-Thumrait dual road. Moreover, efforts will be made to restore networks and organize road markers to enhance safety for road users and ensure efficient movement along the routes.

As preparations continue for Khareef Dhofar 2024, the focus on improving road infrastructure in Al Wusta Governorate underscores the importance of enhancing connectivity and accessibility for residents and tourists alike. By upgrading key roads and implementing strategic measures, the Roads Department aims to create a safer and more efficient transportation network during the bustling season.

Through the initiatives undertaken by the Roads Department, the ministry seeks to optimize the benefits derived from the Khareef season by providing a more conducive environment for travel and transportation. The construction and maintenance activities planned for roads in Haima and other areas are crucial steps towards achieving this goal and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic throughout the region.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is proactively working towards enhancing road infrastructure in Al Wusta Governorate in anticipation of Khareef Dhofar 2024. By taking measures to clear sand layers, construct new roads, and improve existing networks, the Roads Department is committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of transportation during the upcoming season. These efforts not only benefit local residents but also contribute to a positive experience for visitors exploring the region during the Khareef season.
