To combat illegal practices and regulate trading in Dubai’s gas oil (diesel) sector, inspection campaigns have been intensified. The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is ensuring that diesel is traded, transported, stored, and distributed in accordance with UAE specifications. The joint field inspection team, in cooperation with various entities such as the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the Roads and Transport Authority, and Dubai Municipality, has begun field inspections and monitoring operations.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, emphasized the importance of following approved specifications and standards for diesel. He stated that the inspection campaigns reflect a commitment to creating a fair and sustainable trading environment while protecting the rights of consumers and law-abiding suppliers. The goal is to combat illegal practices, which include trading petroleum products that do not meet UAE specifications, selling diesel in unauthorized places that pose risks to public safety, and polluting the environment.
The committee, chaired by Ahmad Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of DSCE, and Chairman of Dubai Regulatory Committee for Petroleum Products, aims to apply the highest standards of security and safety in diesel trading. This involves ensuring that transportation, storage, and distribution of diesel meet stringent regulations and standards. The use of unauthorized means of transportation and storage for diesel is also being monitored to prevent pollution of the environment, soil, and groundwater from leaks.
By implementing these inspection campaigns and working with field inspection teams, Dubai is taking proactive measures to combat illegal practices in the diesel sector. The focus is on enforcing compliance with approved specifications, safeguarding public safety, and protecting the environment from potential harm caused by improper diesel handling. Through these efforts, Dubai aims to create a fair and sustainable trading environment while upholding international standards in safety and security.
The collaboration between various entities in conducting these inspection campaigns underscores the commitment of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and other regulatory bodies to ensure that diesel trading adheres to the highest standards. By monitoring and regulating the entire process – from transportation to distribution – the goal is to maintain a safe and secure environment for consumers and law-abiding suppliers. These efforts demonstrate Dubai’s dedication to enforcing regulations and combating illegal practices in the gas oil sector.
As Dubai intensifies its inspection campaigns and monitoring operations, the focus remains on achieving a fair and sustainable trading environment for diesel while upholding international standards in safety and security. The commitment to compliance with approved specifications and standards reflects the city’s dedication to protecting consumer rights and promoting lawful trading practices. Through these initiatives, Dubai is taking proactive steps to combat illegal practices and ensure that diesel trading follows regulations to safeguard public safety and environmental health.
