The inaugural Esports World Cup is set to take place in Riyadh from July 3 to August 25, 2024, with over 1,500 players from 500 international clubs competing in 22 matches. Organized by the Esports World Cup Convention in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, this tournament is said to be the most expensive in the history of the esports sector, with a total value exceeding $60 million. To make it easier for visitors to attend, electronic visas will be issued for ticket holders. These visas can be obtained through the Saudi Visa platform, with a validity of 90 days for a single entry.

The tournament will be held at Riyadh Boulevard City, a world-class venue known for its unique and innovative experiences. Visitors will not only have the chance to witness exciting esports matches but also participate in various entertainment, educational, and cultural activities suitable for all family members. Through hosting events like the Esports World Cup, Saudi Arabia aims to establish itself as a global destination for gaming and electronic sports, as part of its Vision 2030 initiative. This aligns with the goals set forth in the National Strategy for Gaming and E-Sports, which was launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The issuance of e-visas for the Esports World Cup is a part of the Kingdom’s efforts to ensure the success of international events hosted within its borders. By simplifying the visa application process, Saudi Arabia hopes to attract more visitors and participants to events like this tournament. The Esports World Cup website provides more information about the schedule and specific events taking place during the eight weeks of the competition. With a focus on promoting tourism, diversifying the economy, and developing promising sectors, the Kingdom is actively working towards achieving its Vision 2030 goals through initiatives like this.

As the Esports World Cup takes place, it will serve as a platform for fostering communication between societies and the exchange of different cultures. Esports and gaming are increasingly recognized as a universal language that transcends borders and brings people together. By hosting events like this, Saudi Arabia is not only contributing to the growth of the gaming and electronic sports sector but also showcasing its commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity. This tournament is a testament to the Kingdom’s dedication to embracing innovation and technology as it works towards a more prosperous and connected future for all.
