Dubai Police is offering summer courses for students aged 11 to 18, allowing them to learn scuba diving, horseback riding, and military training. These courses, starting on July 1, are open to students from both private and public schools and of all nationalities. The initiative aims to equip students with valuable social and life skills, promoting values such as discipline, organisation, and responsibility. The programme is part of Dubai Police’s Hemaya International Center initiative, and it offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in various activities while enhancing their personal development.

One student, Jincheng Zhou, a Chinese expat, shared his experience with the summer courses, stating that he was initially scared but eventually got used to military exercises and department tours. The opportunity allowed him to gain insights into police force work and even join the police marching band. Zhou’s mother also expressed her pride in her son’s involvement in the courses, highlighting the positive impact on his character development and career aspirations. Similarly, other students such as sea enthusiasts Suhail Ahmed Suhail and Hamad Ahmed Raheem found the diving course to be enjoyable and enlightening, sparking new interests and passions.

The summer courses also include awareness lectures on drugs, crimes, and misbehaviour, aiming to educate students on social issues and promote safety and security. As the programmes continue to attract participants from diverse backgrounds, students like Fatima, who initially struggled with shyness and social anxiety, have found the courses to be transformative. With the support of her family and the opportunities provided by the courses, she overcame her challenges, participated in various activities, and is now studying engineering, showcasing the positive impact of the programme.

Nichole Ann Philip, an Indian expat, shared her experience of leading the military parade in seven schools, highlighting the importance of discipline and commitment that she learned through the courses. Her father noted the remarkable transformation in his daughter, attributing it to her participation in the summer courses, which helped her set goals, become more engaged in the community, and develop confidence as a leader. With the courses offering a range of activities and learning opportunities, students have the chance to enhance their skills, broaden their interests, and shape their personal growth in a positive and empowering environment.

In conclusion, Dubai Police’s summer courses for students provide a unique platform for learning, growth, and personal development. By offering activities such as scuba diving, horseback riding, and military training, the courses equip students with valuable social and life skills while instilling important values such as discipline and responsibility. The programmes also include awareness lectures on social issues, offering a holistic approach to education and ensuring students are well-rounded individuals. With participants from diverse backgrounds sharing their positive experiences and transformations, the courses prove to be impactful in shaping young minds and preparing them for future success. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to enrich their learning experiences and foster personal growth in a supportive and empowering environment.
