Qatari beach handball team to participate in World Games

The Qatar beach handball team has secured its place in the 2025 World Games after finishing 10th in the Men’s Beach Handball World Championships in China. The World Games will take place in Chengdu, China and will feature 3,600 athletes from 100 countries competing in 34 disciplines. This will be Qatar’s fourth appearance in the multi-sport event, having previously won a silver medal in Birmingham and a bronze medal in Wroclaw.

As six-time Asian champions, Qatar will be looking to improve their performance after their disappointing finish in the World Championships. Despite initially clearing the preliminary stage, they failed to advance to the Main Round and had to settle for 10th place after losing the Ninth-place match to Uruguay. However, they did secure a play-off spot by defeating Tunisia.

The top 12 teams from the Beach Handball World Championships have qualified for the World Games, with Qatar among them. In addition to hosts China, the men’s event will feature teams from Croatia, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Brazil, and Tunisia. Meanwhile, the women’s event will include teams from Germany, Argentina, Netherlands, Denmark, Vietnam, Spain, Portugal, and host nation China.

Qatar’s strong performance in Asia has earned them a spot in the prestigious World Games, where they will compete against some of the best teams from around the world. With their experience in previous editions of the event, Qatar will be hoping to make a mark and improve on their previous performances. With the support of their fans and the determination of their players, Qatar will be looking to challenge for a medal in the upcoming World Games.

The journey to the World Games has been a long and challenging one for the Qatar beach handball team, with tough competition in the World Championships. Despite facing setbacks in the tournament, the team showed resilience and determination to secure their spot in the World Games.
