The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning to motorists about poor visibility due to fog formation on Saturday morning, June 22. The weather department issued a red alert, indicating a deterioration in horizontal visibility that may worsen until 8:30 am. Abu Dhabi Police also urged drivers to be cautious and follow speed limits on electronic information boards due to reduced visibility during the fog.

The weather forecast for the day predicts a fair to partly cloudy day with more clouds expected in the eastern areas by the afternoon. Humidity is expected to increase by night and Sunday morning in coastal areas. Temperatures are set to rise, reaching up to 50ºC in Gasyoura and Al Quaa, with humidity levels reaching 45% and 40% respectively.

Meanwhile, temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to reach 47ºC and 46ºC respectively. The UAE recently recorded the highest temperature of the summer season so far, with Mezaira (Al Dhafra region) reaching 49.9 °C on Friday, June 21. Light to moderate winds are forecasted, occasionally freshening during the day, while the sea conditions are expected to be slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

It is essential for motorists to stay informed and exercise caution during foggy conditions to ensure road safety. Following speed limits and adopting defensive driving strategies are recommended to minimize the risks of accidents. The authorities are monitoring the situation closely and issuing alerts to keep residents updated on any changes in weather conditions.

Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest weather updates and warnings from official sources like the National Centre of Meteorology. Following safety guidelines and being prepared for sudden changes in visibility due to fog formation is crucial for ensuring a safe driving experience. By staying informed and following the necessary precautions, motorists can avoid potential accidents and travel safely during adverse weather conditions.

As temperatures continue to rise, it is important for residents to take necessary precautions to stay cool and hydrated. Avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, staying indoors during peak heat hours, and drinking plenty of water are essential steps to prevent heat-related illnesses. It is also recommended to dress in light and breathable clothing to stay comfortable in the hot weather conditions.

As the summer season progresses, it is crucial to stay vigilant and informed about weather forecasts and warnings to ensure your safety and well-being. By following the guidelines provided by the authorities and taking necessary precautions, residents can navigate through the extreme weather conditions in the UAE. Stay updated on the latest developments and be prepared to adapt to changing weather conditions to stay safe and protected.
