The Board of Trustees of the Council of Higher Education in Bahrain recently met to discuss various topics related to the higher education sector in the country. Additionally, Gulf University’s request to sign a memorandum of understanding with the National Power Academy (NPA) in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain University of Technology’s requests to sign memoranda of understanding with universities in the UAE and India were approved.
The Council also approved various cooperation agreements, including Bahrain Medical University’s proposal to sign a cooperation agreement with the National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences in Taiwan. Furthermore, the Medical University of Bahrain’s request to reconstitute its Board of Trustees and the University of Strathclyde – Bahrain’s request to form an interim board of trustees were also discussed and approved. Arab Open University’s request to appoint a new president, Dr. Najma Ghuloom Redha Taqi, was also approved during the meeting.

He noted that coordinated measures have been taken with the Public Prosecution to address these issues.
