Saudi Arabia has reiterated its stance on diplomatic relations with Israel, stating that there will be no normalization until Israel recognizes an independent Palestine State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan, the Saudi ambassador to Britain, made these comments during a conference at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia will not compromise the rights of Palestinians for the sake of establishing relations with Israel. The Prince also called for an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the region.

The Saudi position aligns with the international consensus on the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination. Prince Khalid bin Bandar highlighted the global support for recognizing a Palestinian state, citing the approval of a draft resolution by the United Nations General Assembly recommending favorable consideration of Palestine’s request for full membership in the UN Security Council. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s efforts in garnering this positive response and urged the international community, particularly the Security Council’s permanent members, to accelerate recognition of the Palestinian state.

Saudi Arabia’s efforts in advocating for Palestinian rights have not gone unnoticed on the global stage. The Prince emphasized the Kingdom’s firm commitment to ensuring that Palestinians secure their legitimate rights and achieve a comprehensive and just peace. By maintaining a steadfast position on the issue of Palestine, Saudi Arabia seeks to uphold the principles of justice and self-determination for all people in the region. The call for recognizing the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital reflects a long-standing commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.

The Prince’s statements underscore Saudi Arabia’s leadership in advocating for Palestinian rights and justice on the international stage. By reaffirming the Kingdom’s position on diplomatic relations with Israel, he has highlighted the importance of upholding the rights of the Palestinian people and securing a just resolution to the ongoing conflict. Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts aim to promote peace and stability in the region by addressing the root causes of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and supporting the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.

In conclusion, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan’s remarks at the conference in London reaffirm Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people. The Kingdom’s position on diplomatic relations with Israel underscores the importance of recognizing the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. By advocating for a just peace for all the people of Palestine, Saudi Arabia continues to play a leading role in the international community’s efforts to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promote stability in the region. The Prince’s statements serve as a reminder of the Kingdom’s dedication to upholding the principles of justice and self-determination for all people in the Middle East.
