The Sultanate of Oman has called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, urging the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces to end the suffering of the Palestinian people. In a speech delivered by Ambassador Idris bin Abdul Rahman Al Khanjari at the United Nations, Oman expressed its reservations about attempting to balance the situation, emphasizing the decades of occupation and deprivation faced by the Palestinian people. Oman condemned the inhumane practices of the occupying state, highlighting the killing of civilians, destruction of infrastructure, and displacement of millions of Palestinians.

The tragic events in Gaza and the West Bank have exposed the reality of the Israeli occupation and its violations of international law. Oman criticized the United Nations for its inability to overcome double standards and address the root causes of the conflict. The Sultanate agreed with the findings of the report that documented war crimes committed by Israel, including the killing and injury of thousands of civilians, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and the starvation of displaced populations. Oman called for the opening of crossings, lifting of the siege, and accelerated delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Oman supported the committee’s call for Israel to comply with temporary measures approved by the International Court of Justice and allow investigation teams to access affected areas without restrictions. The Sultanate emphasized the importance of holding those responsible for war crimes and violations of international law, including genocide, accountable for their actions. Oman called for the return of displaced people to their homes, reconstruction of Gaza, and respect for the rights of the Palestinian people to live in dignity.

The Sultanate of Oman highlighted the need for the international community to take action to address the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the West Bank. Oman urged all parties to respect international law, protect civilians, and work towards a lasting peace in the region. The Sultanate called for a comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of the conflict and ensures the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people are respected. Oman reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts to achieve a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In conclusion, the Sultanate of Oman’s strong stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict emphasizes the need for immediate action to end the suffering of the Palestinian people. Oman calls for a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli forces, as well as the opening of crossings and delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Oman supports accountability for war crimes and violations of international law, and urges the international community to work towards a just and lasting solution to the conflict. The Sultanate remains committed to supporting efforts to achieve peace and security in the region.
