As Etihad Airways gears up for one of its busiest summer holiday seasons ever, the airline expects to welcome around five million guests at Zayed International Airport during peak travel periods. Shaeb Alnuaimi, Etihad’s director of airport operations, expresses excitement about hosting travelers on their summer getaways, particularly those on newly launched routes. The airline’s first summer season at Zayed International Airport promises a seamless travel experience and world-class customer service. To ensure a convenient and safe journey, passengers are advised to arrive early and allow plenty of time at the airport.

Passengers can take advantage of online check-in options via the Etihad website or mobile app, followed by using self-service bag drop facilities at the terminal. Automated bag drops make the process easy and efficient, allowing travelers to weigh, tag, and collect their boarding pass quickly. Offsite check-in and bag drop facilities are also available, with customers receiving 2,000 Etihad Guest Miles as a bonus from June to August.

Travelers are encouraged to stay updated with flight information and status changes by accessing the Manage My Booking section on the Etihad website or app. This platform enables passengers to view or modify their flight details, select seats, and utilize other travel options. Additionally, guests have the option of checking in from the comfort of their own home through the Home Check-In service, offering convenience and efficiency before heading to the airport.

Pre-purchase travel options are available for passengers looking for greater comfort and convenience during their journey. From extra legroom seating to neighbor-free seat bids, Etihad Airways offers various upgrades to enhance the travel experience. Guests can also choose to pre-purchase lounge access for First and Business Class when flying from Abu Dhabi, ensuring a luxurious and relaxing start to their journey.

During peak travel times, it is essential for passengers to adhere to check-in and boarding times to avoid any delays or inconveniences. Economy Class check-in for non-U.S. flights opens four hours before departure, while Business and First Class check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. Etihad Airways emphasizes the importance of arriving early and allowing ample time for the check-in process and boarding.

For a seamless and paperless travel experience, guests can utilize the Etihad Airways mobile app for pre-check-in procedures, including downloading electronic boarding passes. Smart travel options, such as self-service bag drops and biometric recognition at immigration e-gates, offer a hassle-free journey for passengers departing from Abu Dhabi. Additionally, some flights provide biometric boarding scans, further streamlining the boarding process for travelers.

Etihad Airways maintains strict cabin baggage policies to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests. Passengers are reminded to adhere to the weight and size restrictions for cabin baggage, with team members verifying the weight before boarding. Travelers should review the airline’s baggage policy prior to departure and have the option to pre-purchase additional baggage at special rates through the Etihad website or app.

With the Land & Leave service, travelers can enjoy a stress-free arrival experience as Etihad safely delivers their luggage to their home or hotel in Abu Dhabi. Booking this service through the MORAFIQ app or website guarantees timely delivery of bags within three hours of the flight’s arrival. As Etihad Airways prepares for a busy summer season, these convenient travel options and services aim to enhance the overall passenger experience and ensure a seamless journey for all guests.
