The meeting aimed at exploring opportunities to boost joint investments in key sectors and encourage partnerships between business people. Al Busaidi emphasized Oman’s commitment to enhancing trade and economic relations with Mauritania, while highlighting promising opportunities in sectors like energy, mining, tourism, agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

The President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers expressed the Mauritanian private sector’s interest in fostering economic cooperation with Oman’s private sector. He assured his organization’s readiness to assist Omani companies in overcoming any obstacles they may encounter in Mauritania. Additionally, both parties signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the visit, covering areas like political consultations, diplomatic training, studies and research, and cooperation in oil and gas, minerals, energy, and information and communication technology (ICT).

The signed MoUs are aimed at deepening collaboration between Oman and Mauritania in various fields, including oil and gas, minerals, energy, and ICT. The agreements will help facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge, promoting joint investments and partnerships between the two countries. This will contribute to strengthening economic ties and fostering mutual growth and development in both nations. The visit to Mauritania by Oman’s Foreign Minister and the signing of multiple MoUs highlight the growing interest of both countries in enhancing their economic and trade relations. By exploring opportunities for cooperation in vital sectors such as energy, mining, tourism, agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, Oman and Mauritania are laying the groundwork for increased investment and partnership opportunities. The willingness of the Mauritanian private sector to support Omani companies in overcoming challenges further underscores the potential for successful collaboration between the two nations.

The promising opportunities in Mauritania in various sectors present attractive prospects for Omani businesses looking to expand their presence in the country.
