Authorities in Dubai recently impounded over 220 private cars used for illegal passenger transport, with 90 cars seized around Dubai Airports and 86 cars in Hatta. The crackdown also led to 49 cars being impounded in the Jebel Ali area. According to Saeed Al Balooshi, director of Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, inspections were conducted in coordination with Dubai Police to target unlicensed passenger transport in the emirate. Violations were issued for passenger transport on unlicensed vehicles and promoting these services.
