The Indian Ladies Association (ILA) recently launched a youth empowerment program called ‘aaGaz’ to provide children between 13 to 17 years old with the opportunity to learn and serve their community. The program focuses on teaching skills such as social work, fundraising, teamwork, and responsibility. The module will be conducted by experienced ILA members, Dr. Hemlata Singh, Ms. Swati Sanap, and Ms. Priyanka Jassal. The inaugural gathering on June 5 will focus on environmental awareness, with activities such as tree planting and discussions led by environmentalist Mr. Kai Miethig. Future events include leadership training modules and a Mr. & Ms. Teen Bahrain competition.
The ILA believes that the youth are essential in shaping the future and that ‘aaGaz’ will provide them with a platform to develop their skills and serve society. The program aims to create a social entrepreneurship sandbox where children can experiment with ideas to benefit the community while learning crucial skills. Through this initiative, the ILA hopes to instill a sense of responsibility and encourage the youth to make a positive impact on society. The program is open to children of all nationalities, with enrollment available through contacting the Hon. Membership Secretary, Hilda Lobo.
Excitement surrounds the launch of ‘aaGaz’ as the ILA invites youth members, both boys and girls, to join this movement. Children of ILA members can enroll in the program for BD40, while children of non-members can enroll for BD55. Flexible payment options are available for convenience, with an initial registration charge of BD5. The program is designed to be a year-round initiative that offers a comprehensive learning experience for the participants. By participating in ‘aaGaz’, children will have the opportunity to develop essential skills, contribute to their community, and make a difference in society.
The first gathering for the ‘aaGaz’ program will take place on June 5, focusing on environmental awareness. This event will kickstart the program by addressing important environmental concerns and discussing ways to advocate for sustainable practices. Additionally, former ILA presidents will lead the children in planting a tree at the ILA premises, symbolizing their commitment to protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. The event will also include leadership training modules and set the stage for future activities, such as the Mr. & Ms. Teen Bahrain competition.
The ‘aaGaz’ program offers a unique opportunity for youth to engage in meaningful activities that benefit their community and environment. By participating in this initiative, children will not only learn valuable skills such as fundraising and teamwork but also develop a sense of responsibility towards society. The program encourages creativity and innovation, allowing participants to experiment with ideas and projects that have a positive impact on their surroundings. With the guidance of experienced ILA members, children will have the support they need to succeed in their social entrepreneurship endeavors and contribute to the betterment of society as a whole.
