Novak Djokovic, the defending champion of the French Open, fought hard to defeat Argentine player Francisco Cerundolo in a five-set thriller to advance to the quarterfinals. The Serbian player, who is aiming for his 25th Grand Slam title, faced a tough challenge as he battled a knee issue during the match. Despite a rocky start and surrendering a set, Djokovic managed to turn the tide in his favor and secure the victory.

In a milestone win that marked his 370th match victory at Grand Slam tournaments, Djokovic surpassed Swiss legend Roger Federer. However, his performance raised concerns among his competitors as he struggled at times during the match. After a grueling third-round victory that lasted over four hours, Djokovic showed no early signs of fatigue as he dominated the first set against Cerundolo, a claycourt specialist.

During the match, Djokovic faced a right knee issue and required on-court treatment, but he managed to save crucial break points and stay in the game. Cerundolo took advantage of Djokovic’s slip in form and capitalized on some key moments to take the lead in the match. With his title hopes on the line, Djokovic had to dig deep and find a way to turn the match around against a determined opponent.

Despite facing a deficit in the third set, Djokovic displayed his resilience and mental toughness to claw back into the match. With Cerundolo closing in on victory, Djokovic made a remarkable comeback and leveled the contest, setting up a tense finish. The Serbian player’s determination and fighting spirit were on full display as he battled through adversity and ultimately emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter.

After a shaky start and a controversial fall on the court, Djokovic managed to regain his composure and finish the match in style. As he moves on to the quarterfinals, Djokovic will be looking to raise his level of play and overcome any physical challenges to continue his quest for another French Open title. With his rivals sensing an opportunity to dethrone him, Djokovic will need to bring his A-game in the upcoming matches to secure his place in tennis history.
