Hannah Cheryl Alan, an 18-year-old scratch golfer from Dubai, has recently earned a golf scholarship with Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Georgia. Having grown up in the UAE and being a member of both Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club and Emirates Golf Club, Hannah is now excited to pursue her college plans at KSU. With a team of seven girls at KSU, Hannah is looking forward to adding her strengths to an already strong team, coached by Jamie McConnell.
Reflecting on her golf achievements in the UAE, Hannah has been the Junior Order of Merit (OOM) Gross Winner in 2023, won the Robert Rock Invitational at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, and has multiple gross wins in Ladies and Junior Open events hosted by the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF). Her most vivid memory outside the UAE was winning the Trust Golf event in Singapore for Under-20 Girls, representing the UAE. Hannah’s short-term goals include achieving a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) below 600 and consistently shooting under par. Her long-term goal is to become one of the finest players on the LPGA Tour.
Excited about her upcoming university life as a college athlete, Hannah aims to improve herself, make new connections, and explore wider possibilities. Despite moving to the US for her studies, Hannah plans to keep in touch with her friends in the UAE, as they have played a significant role in her life. With the UAE being her home for the past 18 years, Hannah cherishes her friendships and is proud to hold a UAE passport.
