The rise in temperatures in Oman has led to Indian schools in the country making changes to their academic schedules. Due to extreme heat conditions, Indian schools in Muscat and Bausher have decided to reduce their opening hours or shift to online classes. Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the board of Directors of Indian Schools Oman, mentioned that schools have been asked to adjust their timing or move online as needed. Indian School Muscat rescheduled their timings from June 4th to June 6th, with different class timings for different grades. Indian School Bausher also made changes to their schedule, with the last working day for students up to Grade V being June 3rd and online sessions for Grades VI and above.

The extreme weather conditions in Oman have prompted these schools to prioritize the well-being of their students and implement changes to their academic schedules accordingly. It is reported that Hamra Ad Duru station in Al Dhahirah Governorate recorded the highest temperature in the Sultanate of Oman, nearly reaching 50 degrees Celsius on June 2nd, 2024.
