The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organized a tourism, investment, and export promotion event on May 29, 2024, in celebration of International Sagarmatha Day. The event, held at Nepal House, aimed to explore opportunities in tourism, trade, and investment between Nepal and Oman. Over 30 high-profile guests, including businesspersons, CEOs, media personalities, and airline officials, attended the program.
During the event, Ambassador Dornath Aryal discussed the Nepali government’s policies to boost the export of Nepali products, attract foreign investment in mega projects, and diversify trade partners for goods and services. He also emphasized Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings, catering to individuals of all ages with cultural, religious, adventure, and natural experiences. The Ambassador encouraged guests to visit Nepal, highlighting its strategic location and favorable policies for trade and investment.
Ambassador Aryal shared updates on the Nepal Investment Summit 2024, where 152 projects were showcased, attracting over 2,400 participants from 50 countries. The event also featured the first female Everest climber from Oman, Nadira Al Harathi, who recounted her journey to summit Mount Everest. Another Omani Everest climber, Sulaiman Hamoud Mahfodh Al Naabi, presented a captivating video and photos of his expedition. The climbers were honored with metal plaques and Pasmina shawls by the Ambassador and Madam Swodesh Aryal.
The program included a tourism promotional video showcasing the beauty of Nepal, as well as testimonials from attendees like Fathiya Al Jadzali, who shared how visiting Nepal had a transformative impact on her life. She encouraged everyone to experience the purest form of nature in Nepal. Additionally, a discussion on trekking opportunities in Nepal, including seven base camps trekking in different Himalayas, was highlighted by a participant, further promoting Nepal as a destination for adventure seekers.
The event concluded with a dinner, where Bishesh Kumar Sah, the Second Secretary of the Embassy, facilitated the program. Overall, the event successfully promoted tourism, investment, and export opportunities between Nepal and Oman, fostering closer ties between the two countries. Guests were provided with valuable insights into the potential for collaboration and growth in various sectors, encouraging them to explore the possibilities for partnership and mutual benefit.
