The festival, known as Indian Hamba, opened on May 30 and has already seen an impressive amount of mango sales. According to figures shared by Souq Waqif on social media, over 20,000kg of mangoes were sold in just the first two days of the event.

The exhibition, which features a variety of mangoes from different regions of India, opened with a bang as 8,500kg of mangoes were sold on the first day. Sales increased on the second day, with 13,000kg of mangoes flying off the shelves. Attendees can expect to find popular varieties such as Alphonso, Kesar, Banganapalli, Totapuri, Neelam, Mallika, Malgova, and Langada, among many others at the festival.

In addition to purchasing fresh mangoes, visitors can also enjoy mango tastings and traditional dishes, jams, juices, and ice creams made from this delicious fruit. The festival, which runs from 4pm to 9pm daily, boasts the participation of 60 companies with 100 outlets, making it a comprehensive showcase of all things mango. The event is a joint effort organized by Souq Waqif and the Embassy of India.

The Indian Mango Festival is a unique opportunity for residents and visitors of Doha to indulge in the vibrant flavors of India’s most beloved fruit. The event not only provides a platform for mango enthusiasts to purchase their favorite varieties but also offers a cultural experience through traditional dishes and products made from mangoes. With the diverse selection of mangoes on display, attendees are sure to find their favorite varieties and discover new ones to savor.

The festival serves as a celebration of the rich agricultural heritage of India, showcasing the country’s diverse mango cultivation practices and the unique flavors that each region contributes to the mango industry. By bringing together 60 companies with 100 outlets, the festival promotes trade between India and Qatar, fostering partnerships and collaborations in the agricultural sector. With the support of the Embassy of India, the event strengthens the cultural ties between the two countries through the shared love of mangoes.

As the Indian Mango Festival continues to captivate crowds at Souq Waqif, attendees can look forward to exploring a wide range of mango varieties, engaging in tastings, and enjoying delicious mango-based products. The success of the event, as evidenced by the staggering sales figures in just the first two days, highlights the growing popularity of mangoes in Qatar and the demand for such unique cultural experiences.
