The Indian Mango Festival in Doha, Qatar has become a popular event for fruit lovers, drawing crowds from all over the country to Souq Waqif. The festival, known as Indian Hamba, opened on May 30 and has already seen an impressive amount of mango sales. According to figures shared by Souq Waqif on social media, over 20,000kg of mangoes were sold in just the first two days of the event.
The exhibition, which features a variety of mangoes from different regions of India, opened with a bang as 8,500kg of mangoes were sold on the first day. Sales increased on the second day, with 13,000kg of mangoes flying off the shelves. Attendees can expect to find popular varieties such as Alphonso, Kesar, Banganapalli, Totapuri, Neelam, Mallika, Malgova, and Langada, among many others at the festival.
In addition to purchasing fresh mangoes, visitors can also enjoy mango tastings and traditional dishes, jams, juices, and ice creams made from this delicious fruit. The festival, which runs from 4pm to 9pm daily, boasts the participation of 60 companies with 100 outlets, making it a comprehensive showcase of all things mango. The event is a joint effort organized by Souq Waqif and the Embassy of India.
