Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson’s highly anticipated return to the ring against YouTuber Jake Paul has been postponed due to health concerns. Tyson, 57, recently experienced a health scare on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, prompting organisers to advise him to only do minimal training in the coming weeks. This decision was made to ensure both Tyson and Paul have equal time to prepare for the fight and compete at the highest level. The fight, which is set to be livestreamed by Netflix, will be rescheduled for a later date.

In a statement, Tyson expressed his gratitude for his fans’ support during this time and assured them that he will be back to his full training schedule soon. Despite the setback, Tyson remains confident that he will be in prime condition when he faces Paul in the ring. Paul also supported the decision to postpone the fight, believing that it will eliminate any potential excuses for Tyson come fight night. Despite concerns from the boxing community, including former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, Tyson is determined to make a successful comeback.

Tyson, who dominated the heavyweight division in the 1980s and 1990s, sees his return to boxing as a testament to his enduring legacy in the sport. Despite his age, Tyson maintains that he is in better shape than he has been since the 1990s and is ready to prove his critics wrong. The fight with Paul, which was scheduled to consist of eight two-minute rounds, has been met with skepticism from some in the boxing world. However, Tyson remains unfazed by the doubts, declaring his readiness to step back into the ring and reclaim his title as the “baddest man on the planet”.

The postponement of the Tyson-Paul fight has left fans eagerly awaiting the rescheduled date, which is expected to be announced by June 7. Both fighters are determined to make a statement in the ring, with Tyson looking to solidify his legacy and Paul seeking to prove his worth as a legitimate contender. The buildup to the fight has generated significant buzz and excitement among boxing fans, who are eager to witness a showdown between two formidable opponents. As the anticipation continues to build, all eyes will be on Tyson and Paul as they prepare for their highly anticipated clash in the ring.
