The Social Studies Section of the Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education recently concluded its annual activities with a ceremony to showcase its achievements and honor the distinguished students. The event, held at the Ministry’s building, was attended by Maha Zayed Al Qaqaa Al Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, along with other officials and a large number of parents and students. During the ceremony, Maryam Al Numan, Director of the Educational Guidance Department, highlighted the importance of social studies in understanding and developing society, while also acknowledging the efforts that led to the student’s successes during the academic year.
The ceremony featured a brief film showcasing the activities of the Social Studies Department, as well as presentations from students on their experiences in various competitions. Noura Jaber Al-Marri, a student from Al Falah Primary School for Girls, shared her experience in the “My Heritage is My Identity” competition, while Al Dana Jassim Al Jassmi, a student from Granada Preparatory School for Girls, discussed her participation in the Electronic Glossary competition. Additionally, Saud Hassan Aqeel from Hassan Bin Thabet Secondary School for Boys talked about his experience in the Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani Competition for Scientific Excellence, and Reem Al Khulaifi from Al Wakra Secondary School for Girls presented her experience in the “Towards Sustainability” competition.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, 39 winning students were honored and received prizes and certificates of appreciation for their achievements in various competitions organized by the department throughout the academic year. The ceremony also recognized the sponsoring schools – Al Falah Primary School for Girls, Granada Preparatory School for Girls, Al Wakra Secondary School for Girls, and Hassan Bin Thabet Secondary School for Boys – for their support and contributions to the department’s activities. The honored students expressed their gratitude for the department’s support, noting that these awards would motivate them to strive for further excellence.
The event served as a culmination of a year of hard work and dedication, sending a clear message that perseverance and diligence lead to positive results. The attendees expressed appreciation for the efforts made and the high level of work presented by the students.
