Arabian Gulf University showcases collaborative cooperation among Gulf countries: Ministry of Education Undersecretary

Qatar recently hosted the 95th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arabian Gulf University, which was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The meeting focused on the university’s achievements, updated academic plans, and future initiatives to support its vision and goals. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, commended the university for its excellence in higher education and scientific research, particularly in the medical fields. He highlighted the introduction of the Bachelor of Nursing program and emphasized the importance of joint cooperation among Gulf countries.

Dr. Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of reviewing the university’s accomplishments and discussing future plans to promote critical and creative thinking among Gulf youth. He called for the development and implementation of joint research projects with leading scientific institutions to address global challenges. He also recognized the support of Gulf state governments for investing in science and learning to drive sustainable development and innovation. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the need to adapt education systems to incorporate emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and big data to enhance the Gulf region’s educational landscape.

President of the Arabian Gulf University, Dr. Saad Saud M AlFahaid, highlighted the university’s achievements, particularly in the medical field. He mentioned that the College of Medicine has produced thousands of doctors in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and introduced a new bachelor’s degree in nursing. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Omar Al Rawas, expressed gratitude to Qatar for hosting the meeting and acknowledged the members’ dedication to advancing the university. He emphasized the importance of the meeting’s agenda in shaping the university’s future and achieving its vision and mission.

Overall, the meeting served as a platform to assess the Arabian Gulf University’s progress and discuss strategies to enhance its academic and administrative capabilities. The emphasis on joint cooperation, innovative programs, and adapting to technological advancements reflects the commitment of all involved stakeholders to promote quality education and research in the region. The collaboration between Gulf countries and academic institutions is key to fostering knowledge exchange, skills development, and sustainable growth in the ever-evolving global landscape.
