The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in Muscat recently made significant developments in the Sultan Haitham City’s first phase (2024 – 2030) by signing agreements for design, management, and construction projects. The agreements were signed in celebration of the first anniversary of the inauguration of Sultan Haitham City, which took place on 31 May 2023 at Bait Al Barakah Palace under the patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. These agreements are a crucial step towards the development and partnership within the city’s framework.

The agreements covered two segments: “Design and Management” and “Construction”. In the segment of design and management, agreements were signed with Ibn Khaldun Company for the preparation of detailed structural engineering maps for various facilities. This includes 3 school complexes, a rehabilitation center, and a cultural center. Additionally, an agreement was signed with Razeen Company to prepare detailed engineering maps for the establishment of a cultural center.

In the construction segment, the Ministry signed an agreement with Strabag Oman Company to construct 5 bridges within the Sultan Haitham City. Another agreement was made with Oman International Holding Company to design and establish the city’s central experiment and control center. These construction projects are essential for the infrastructure development and overall progress of the city.

Furthermore, a tripartite agreement was signed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Al-Abrar Real Estate Company, and Oman Housing Bank to provide financing programs for those interested in purchasing residential units within Sultan Haitham City. This initiative aims to make the city more accessible and affordable for potential residents, promoting growth and sustainability in the area.

Overall, these agreements mark a significant milestone in the development of Sultan Haitham City and showcase the government’s commitment to urban planning and housing initiatives. The partnerships formed with various companies and institutions demonstrate a collaborative effort towards enhancing the infrastructure and facilities within the city. With these projects underway, Sultan Haitham City is poised to become a modern and thriving community for residents and visitors alike.
