The Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture in Dubai recently organized a virtual ‘Haj experience’ for 80 first-time pilgrims from the UAE, who are scheduled to embark on their Haj journey on June 11. The interactive room in the center aims to prepare the pilgrims for the real journey by simulating the crowdedness of the Haj and guiding them on how to perform the rituals. It also emits the distinctive scent of the Kaaba to enhance the immersive experience.

The pilgrims, selected from various government offices and circles in Dubai, will receive detailed information about Haj and its rituals through the interactive room. It is essential for Muslims to undertake Haj at least once in their lifetime if they are physically and financially able to do so. The journey to Haj is considered as a unique and spiritually enriching experience unlike any other journey in life.

In addition to the virtual experience, the pilgrims also underwent medical checkups and guidance from healthcare professionals to ensure their well-being during the rigorous pilgrimage. The medical staff emphasized the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding painkillers or stimulants like tea and coffee, which can exacerbate dehydration in the heat. Vaccinations were provided to all pilgrims before their journey to safeguard their health and safety.

Each pilgrim received a special bag containing essential items needed for their spiritual journey, including ihram garments. The bags were prepared to ensure that the pilgrims are fully equipped physically and spiritually for the life-changing experience of Haj. The aim is to provide all necessary items, from clothing to hygiene products, to facilitate a smooth and comfortable journey for every pilgrim.

The organizers also stressed the significance of mental preparation along with physical readiness for Haj. Saeed Al Zaabi from the Al-Furqan campaign for Haj and Umrah highlighted the importance of being mentally prepared for the journey, emphasizing that it would be the most beautiful experience of the pilgrims’ lives. The immersive virtual experience, coupled with medical guidance and essential supplies, aims to equip the pilgrims thoroughly for their spiritual journey.

Overall, the virtual ‘Haj experience’ organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Islamic Culture in Dubai serves as a comprehensive preparatory session for first-time pilgrims embarking on their Haj journey. The interactive room, medical checkups, and provision of essential items ensure that the pilgrims are well-prepared physically, mentally, and spiritually for the life-changing experience of Haj. By providing detailed information, simulations, and guidance, the center aims to enhance the pilgrims’ understanding and readiness for this important Islamic ritual.
