Ajay Sethi is a prominent figure in the world of cricket broadcasting, with an inspiring success story that began when he arrived in Dubai in 1993 to start a small-scale business. As the chairman and MD of the Channel 2 Group Corporation, Sethi recently extended the audio rights partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the US. The new deal covers India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region until 2027.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Sethi, who first acquired the ICC global audio rights in 2009. With South Asia being the largest market for cricket, this partnership showcases the ICC’s trust in Channel 2 Group Corporation’s ability to deliver top-quality radio content during World Cups. Sethi mentioned that renowned commentators, including Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Clive Lloyd, and Zaheer Abbas, will be part of the live World Cup commentary produced by Big Talk and 100.3 FM in the UAE.

Channel 2 Group Corporation is known for bringing cricket broadcasting legends to the radio commentary box, offering fans a unique and diverse perspective on the game. Sethi’s efforts to promote cricket through world-class commentary have been recognized by former cricket captains like Ramiz Raja, who commended the team’s investment in the sport. Sethi’s successful journey in Dubai, starting with an automobile spare parts showroom in Deira, reflects his deep gratitude towards the country for its role in his personal and professional growth.

As Sethi continues to make strides in the world of cricket broadcasting, his commitment to excellence and passion for the game shine through in his partnerships and collaborations. The extended audio rights deal with the ICC for the T20 World Cup reaffirms Channel 2 Group Corporation’s position as a leader in providing quality cricket content to fans across the South Asian region. With a lineup of distinguished commentators and a dedication to promoting the sport, Sethi’s legacy in the industry only grows stronger with each new partnership and initiative.
