Al Khater holds meeting with NATO officials

The Minister of State for International Cooperation, H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, had a busy day in Brussels yesterday as she met with high-ranking officials from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). In separate meetings, she talked with Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, H E Boris Ruge, and Assistant Secretary-General for Public Diplomacy, H E Marie-Doha Besancenot. The focus of the discussions was on the cooperation between Qatar and NATO, as well as ways to strengthen relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the NATO.

During her meeting with H E Boris Ruge, Minister Al Khater discussed the importance of cooperation between Qatar and NATO in the areas of political affairs and security policy. They exchanged ideas on how to enhance collaboration in these key areas, with a particular emphasis on maintaining regional stability and security. H E Ruge expressed his appreciation for Qatar’s contributions to the international community and its commitment to promoting peace and security.

In her meeting with H E Marie-Doha Besancenot, Minister Al Khater focused on public diplomacy and the role of communication in enhancing relations between Qatar, the GCC countries, and NATO. They discussed ways to improve public perception of NATO in the region and how to effectively communicate the organization’s goals and values to a wider audience. Both sides agreed on the importance of transparent and open communication in building trust and understanding between nations.

The discussions between Minister Al Khater and the NATO officials underscored Qatar’s commitment to strengthening its ties with international partners and playing a proactive role in promoting peace and security in the region.
