A temporary traffic diversion on Emirates Road (E611), near Al Budaiya Interchange in Sharjah, is set to take place from May 28th to May 30th. According to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI), the right lane of the service road will be closed for those traveling from Sharjah to Dubai during this time. Motorists are urged to follow directional signs and adhere to the speed limit to ensure safety during the diversion period.

In addition to the temporary traffic diversion, the Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah recently announced a reduction in speed limits on two major roads, Al Ittihad and Al Wahda. Drivers are now required to adhere to a speed limit of 80kmph instead of the previous 100kmph on these roads. This decision is aimed at promoting road safety and reducing the risk of accidents in these areas.

This reduction in speed limits is not the first time authorities have taken such measures to enhance road safety in the region. Last November, a similar speed reduction exercise was implemented on the stretch between Sharjah and Al Garhoud Bridge, bringing speed limits down from 100kmph to 80kmph. These initiatives demonstrate the commitment of authorities to create a safer road environment for all motorists in the area.

Motorists are advised to stay updated with the latest news and announcements regarding road diversions and speed limit reductions. Following official channels such as the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and local transport authorities can help drivers plan their journeys effectively and avoid any inconvenience caused by road work or speed limit changes. It is important for drivers to always follow traffic rules and regulations to ensure their safety and the safety of others on the road.

By being aware of temporary road diversions and speed limit changes, motorists can contribute to a smoother traffic flow and reduce the likelihood of accidents on the roads. Cooperation and compliance with authorities’ directives are essential to maintain order and safety on the roads, especially during periods of road work or alterations to speed limits. Stay informed, follow the signs, and drive responsibly to ensure a safe and efficient journey on the roads.
