Al Khater meets with Palestinian ministers to discuss Gaza

In Brussels, HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Palestinian Ministers to discuss cooperation between their countries and the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. They focused on the immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Strip, as well as the humanitarian needs in Gaza and the West Bank. HE Minister Al Khater expressed Qatar’s support for the new Palestinian government and condemned Israel’s decision to freeze Palestinian funds.

Furthermore, HE Minister Al Khater vehemently condemned the Israeli bombing that targeted a camp for displaced people in Rafah, resulting in the death and injuries of many Palestinians. She emphasized the importance of resuming the political process based on international law, equality, and justice, and involving the Palestinian people in all future discussions and decisions. The Palestinian Ministers shared their plans for reform in the economic, social, and relief sectors in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

The meeting highlighted the strong commitment of the State of Qatar to supporting the Palestinian people and their government during these challenging times. The discussions emphasized the urgent need for a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, as well as addressing the humanitarian crisis in the region.
