Lubella Gauna, a Mexican-American musician, draws inspiration from her dual heritage and family’s musical background. Her great uncles and great-grandfather, who were musicians, instilled in her a passion for music from a young age. Gauna’s journey with the violin began at the age of seven, and she excelled in competitions across California, eventually performing at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.

Despite receiving a scholarship offer from The Juilliard School, Gauna’s parents steered her towards a more stable profession, leading her to pursue nursing while continuing her music on the side. She faced challenges, such as missing concert opportunities for final exams, but remained dedicated to her education. Gauna eventually found a balance between her nursing career and musical aspirations, freelancing for Mexican artists and performing cover songs with her violin.

A viral moment came when Gauna discovered Arabic music on YouTube and decided to learn and perform Ana Habibi by Mohammed Abdu. Despite facing criticism and skepticism from critics, Gauna’s unique interpretation and passion for Arabic music garnered her a large following. Her fusion of Western and Arabic influences resonated with many, leading to her success as a musician.

Overcoming challenges such as online bullying and questioning her authenticity, Gauna remains undeterred in her pursuit of music. She embraces her distinctive style and the fusion of Western and Arabic influences, staying true to her passion and creativity. Balancing her time between caring for her father, who is a cancer patient, and her music career, Gauna continues to inspire her followers with her unique blend of cultural influences.

Through her music, Gauna acts as a bridge between her diverse followers in Mexico, the US, and the Middle East. She finds peace in Islam and uses her spiritual journey to unite and educate her followers about different cultures and the importance of diversity. Gauna’s music serves as a powerful vehicle for celebrating her heritage, embracing diversity, and conveying emotions that resonate universally.
