Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, along with other high-ranking officials, attended a meeting in Brussels to discuss the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip. The meeting focused on the Israeli occupation’s military escalation and aggression against defenseless civilians, including the targeting of displaced Palestinians’ tents near the UNRWA headquarters. The participants emphasized the urgent need for the international community to intervene and stop the Israeli forces’ massacres to prevent a worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
The Ministerial Committee members reiterated the importance of creating the necessary political conditions for the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, as outlined in relevant international resolutions. They strongly opposed any attempts to divide the Palestinian issue and emphasized that the future of the Gaza Strip cannot be discussed separately from the overall Palestinian cause. The officials also called for holding the Israeli occupation forces accountable for their violations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which contravene international law and humanitarian norms.
In addition to addressing the immediate humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the meeting participants stressed the importance of ensuring that urgent humanitarian aid reaches the besieged population. They called for increased efforts to confront the Israeli occupation forces’ violations, which only serve to worsen the suffering of the Palestinian people. By holding the occupation accountable for its actions, the international community can help alleviate the human tragedy unfolding in the Gaza Strip and other occupied territories.
The discussions in Brussels underscored the urgent need for coordinated international action to halt the Israeli occupation’s aggression and prevent further loss of life in Gaza. The attending officials highlighted the role of the international community in putting an end to the ongoing massacres and ensuring the protection of civilians in the region. By reaffirming their commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and advocating for a just resolution to the conflict, the Ministerial Committee members aimed to mobilize global support for the Palestinian people’s rights and aspirations.
The meeting in Brussels also served as a platform for diplomatic efforts to address the root causes of the crisis in Gaza and advocate for a lasting peace settlement based on international law and UN resolutions. The participants emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach that takes into account the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and statehood. By engaging in dialogue and cooperation with key stakeholders, the Ministerial Committee aimed to pave the way for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ensure a better future for all parties involved.
As the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, the international community must remain steadfast in its support for the Palestinian people’s rights and mobilize efforts to end the Israeli occupation’s aggression. By advocating for a just and lasting solution to the conflict, the Ministerial Committee members sought to galvanize global support for the Palestinian cause and promote peace and stability in the region. Through continued diplomatic engagement and collective action, the participants aimed to address the root causes of the crisis and work towards a brighter future for the Palestinian people.
