The Ministry of Awqaf collaborates with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to embrace innovative technologies

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has partnered with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to enhance IT infrastructure and critical software at the Ministry of Endowments. This collaboration aims to upgrade websites such as Islam web, improve cybersecurity, and align with the third National Development Strategy 2024-2030 to advance the digital economy and leverage Artificial Intelligence. The cooperation also includes utilizing AI to optimize user experiences and provide innovative solutions never before seen in Qatar or globally. MoCIT will provide essential tools to help the Ministry of Endowments adopt cutting-edge technologies, digital transformations, and AI, while offering new services for the public.

Sami Mohammad Al Shammari, the Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at MoCIT, praised the cooperation as a pioneering model among government bodies. He emphasized the role of the Ministry of Endowments in promoting Islamic awareness and values, highlighting the importance of digital advancement in all state sectors. The partnership aims to establish an integrated information system that automates services for citizens and residents in Qatar, upgrading digital platforms to provide quicker access to reliable Islamic and cultural information. Al Shammari expressed hope that the cooperation will significantly enhance electronic services offered by the Ministry of Endowments.

In the first phase, MoCIT will focus on upgrading the communication system with the public and providing rapid, constructive services to beneficiaries through the departments of the Ministry of Endowments. The initial focus will be on the Mosque sector, which oversees approximately 2,300 mosques nationwide. This effort is part of a larger initiative to modernize services and improve the efficiency of information dissemination within the Ministry of Endowments. By leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and digital transformations, the collaboration aims to provide cutting-edge solutions for the public while supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The strategic partnership between the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reflects a commitment to advancing digital innovation and promoting the Islamic values and cultural heritage of Qatar. By upgrading IT infrastructure and critical software at the Ministry of Endowments, the cooperation aims to enhance cybersecurity and optimize user experiences on websites such as Islam web.
