Oman Flour Mills Company recently signed an agreement to support livestock breeders in North Al Batinah by providing high-quality animal feed for two years. This initiative aims to improve livestock nutrition and increase productivity, contributing to food security and sustainability in the agricultural livestock sector in Oman. The pact was signed in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and Ahmed bin Alawi Al Marza, Head of the Sustainability Department at OFM.

Sheikh Al Kindi commended the efforts of Omani Flour Mills in promoting sustainable development and providing support to livestock breeders in the region to enhance their production efficiency. Al Marza emphasized that this initiative is part of OFM’s national and social responsibility to support the government’s efforts in ensuring food security in Oman. He highlighted the importance of reducing imports and meeting the local demand for Omani meat in the market.

In addition to its main activity of grinding wheat and selling flour under the brand “Dhahabi,” Oman Flour Mills Company is also actively involved in providing animal feed. The company produces animal feed under the “Barakat” brand and has expanded its investment in the industrial production of animal feed by establishing three factories. These efforts aim to utilize local raw materials in an economical, sustainable, and environmentally friendly manner to enhance food security and provide in-country value.

One of the significant contributions of Oman Flour Mills in this field is the animal feed production plant in the Wilayat of Muttrah, which is the third factory established by the company to support Oman Vision 2040 goals. By focusing on enhancing the circular economy and utilizing locally available resources, OFM aims to produce a variety of feed products that meet the needs of Oman for food manufacturing inputs. This initiative not only supports local farmers but also contributes to the overall development of the agricultural sector in Oman.

The agreement signed by Oman Flour Mills Company underscores its commitment to supporting local communities and promoting sustainable practices in the livestock sector. By providing high-quality animal feed to livestock breeders in North Al Batinah, OFM is contributing to enhancing livestock nutrition, increasing productivity, and ultimately improving food security in Oman. The company’s focus on utilizing local resources and investing in the production of animal feed aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040 and highlights its dedication to promoting economic growth and sustainability in the agricultural sector.
