Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi highlighted Qatar’s reputation as a suitable center for mediation and conflict resolution. He noted that Qatar has successfully resolved disputes and reached consensus formulas between various conflicting parties over the years. Discussing Qatar’s mediation efforts alongside Egypt and the United States of America in the Gaza Strip conflict, he deemed it as one of the toughest historical cases faced.

Despite the challenges, Dr. Al Khulaifi affirmed that Qatar’s mission in mediating the Gaza conflict is ongoing. The country continues to explore all opportunities to achieve a breakthrough, bringing peace and calm to the people of Gaza. He emphasized that Qatar’s mediation initiatives extend beyond its region, citing its contribution to resolving conflicts in geographically distant areas such as the dispute between the US and Venezuela.

Furthermore, Dr. Al Khulaifi stressed the importance of international partnerships in resolving conflicts, affirming Qatar’s commitment to upholding international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. He highlighted that Qatar’s firm political stances do not contradict its mediation efforts, as both are conducted within the framework of established international norms. This approach has been instrumental in building Qatar’s reputation as a trusted mediator on the global stage.

In conclusion, Dr. Al Khulaifi touched upon Qatar’s humanitarian motive in participating in mediations, particularly in cases such as reuniting families affected by conflicts in Ukraine. This highlights Qatar’s commitment to alleviating the human suffering caused by conflicts through its mediation efforts. Overall, Qatar’s mediation initiatives have not only earned it international recognition but also showcase its dedication to promoting peace and stability in conflict-affected regions.
