Qatar Chamber recently highlighted the close ties between themselves and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), showcasing the exchange of business delegations as a way to explore new opportunities for cooperation across various sectors in both countries. This emphasis on collaboration was made evident during Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari’s attendance at OCCI’s 50th anniversary celebrations. During the event, Al Kuwari commended the strong relationship between Qatar and Oman, particularly in the commercial aspect, emphasizing the advanced ties that exist between the two nations.
Al Kuwari also noted the significant growth in economic and trade cooperation between Qatar and Oman in recent years, citing a 20 percent increase in trade volume between the two countries. In 2023, the trade volume reached QR 5.4 billion, up from QR 4.5 billion in 2021. Furthermore, Al Kuwari highlighted the presence of numerous Omani companies operating in Qatar across various sectors, as well as the success of Qatari investments in Oman in various industries. He also commended the efforts of the Qatari-Omani Business Council in enhancing cooperation between businesses in both countries, underscoring the importance of strengthening communication with Gulf chambers.
The Qatar Chamber’s participation in OCCI’s anniversary celebrations demonstrates their commitment to fostering stronger ties with Gulf chambers, with Al Kuwari noting the Oman Chamber’s significance as one of the most important and active chambers in the region.
